Safety project unsafe for women

The pilot project which was designed on the basis of gender audit is partially executed, leading to the unsafe conditions for women to commute between Delhi Gate and Ajmeri Gate. The pavements which were supposedly built for the commuters are taken over by hawkers and hospital ambulances resulting to the unsafe conditions of commuting specially women.

Women’s groups demand grievance cell for Mumbai’s bar dancers

A conglomeration of women’s groups across India, demanded a grievance cell to help regulate working conditions in dance bars in Mumbai. It was jointly initiated by the Bar Dancers’ Association and other women’s organizations after a Bombay high court judgment in 2006.
