New publication from Jagori: Rhymes for equality

Jagori has produced a book of rhymes, written by Indian women's rights activist Kamla Bhasin, that aims to challenge male and female stereotypes. Adapted from the original produced in Hindi by UNICEF in 1994, the English version has a new introduction by Kamla Bhasin and illustrations by Mickey Patel.

India’s veteran feminist activist Kamla Bhasin delivered the keynote speech at a conference organised by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in Berlin on May 22. The conference was part of BMZ’s initiative to launch a new gender equality policy.

About 50 young women from Madanpur Khadar joined others on a bicycle ride on 9th March, 2014 to mark International Women's Day. The event was organized by Spin Life, a Gurgaon-based organisation that specialises in conducting bicycle rides and training people in spinning, who joined hands with the NGO Jagori, to break barriers and encourage women to cycle in the city.
